la temperatura ideal para lavar la ropa con Home Healthy Home

Tips for choosing the right temperature for your washing machine

It seems to be a recurring question when it comes to starting up your washing machine... And indeed, if you want your clothes to last longer, the choice of washing program and temperature greatly influences optimal results.

As you know, no all textiles can be washed at the same temperature, Fortunately, today's washing machines offer a wide range of programs, and sometimes it's hard to choose. Furthermore, most of the electricity consumed by washing machines is used to heat the water. Therefore, Correctly choosing the temperature of the wash cycle is essential to limit energy consumption. Thanks to new-generation washing machines and specially designed washing products, you can wash your clothes at a much lower temperature. However, the temperature of the selected program doesn't depend solely on power consumption; you also have to take into account the type of clothes being washed and their degree of soiling.

At Home Healthy Home, we want to help you with a few quick tips.

First of all, we recommend that you always read the labels where the manufacturer recommends the temperature at which you should wash your clothes. Another important point, which we sometimes forget, is to sort your clothes by color, textile fiber, or degree of soiling.

What temperature should you choose for washing clothes?

Wash clothes between 0 and 30 degrees

These temperatures are sufficient for eliminate unpleasant odors and stains caused by daily use. They are suitable for lightly soiled clothing, lingerie, very delicate items, cashmere, or silk. Keep in mind that delicate garments require a mild detergent. No. 13 from the Home Healthy Home collection is formulated with organic olive oil, which nourishes natural fibers and provides extra softness. Plus, you don't need fabric softener.

You should keep in mind that in cold wash cycles, the water is not heated, so clothes are washed at room water temperature, which can vary depending on the season.

Wash clothes at 40 degrees

It is a temperature suitable for most textiles and colored clothing such as cotton, jeans, linen, viscose, wool, acrylic, nylon, polyester/cotton blends, cotton/viscose, etc.

This temperature is very effective and helps remove stains. It's enough to activate the natural ingredients in the detergent and nourish the clothes. Warm water also prevents color loss and won't damage clothes that are washed frequently.

Wash clothes at 60 degrees

It's the ideal temperature for dirty clothes and baby clothes, as well as for sheets, towels, tea towels, etc. They are often very dirty, so they need a higher temperature.

Washing at 60°C ensures impeccable hygienic cleanliness, as bacteria, mites, and fungi are only eliminated at temperatures above 60°C. Recommended if you have a sick person at home. Important: at this temperature Always wash whites and dark colors separately.

Use soap No. 12 if you have sensitive skin and don't want any type of perfume. This soap is perfect for caring for baby clothes.

As we have discussed previously, if you need to wash very delicate garments or natural fibers, we recommend our Laundry soap No. 13. Ideal for nourishing and deep cleaning due to its formulation with olive oil.

If you have to wash your sportswear or if it is synthetic clothing, we recommend using our detergent No. 14. It combats bad odors.
