The importance of essential oils.

aceites esenciales Home Healthy Home

Now more than ever, we must use essential oils.

More and more hospitals are adopting its use as a therapeutic tool. Many of them had already started doing so before the coronavirus crisis, even diffusing essential oils in their treatment rooms. For example:
  • The Saint-Nicolas d'Angers Hospital, in France, has been using sweet orange, lavandin and lemongrass essential oils for years against insomnia and anxiety in elderly residents.
  • Valenciennes Hospital has implemented more than 18 protocols for the use of essential oils against pain, bruises, etc. Doctors speak of “ excellent results” after its application.
  • The Mouscron Hospital , in Belgium, uses the essential oils of thyme, lemon and eucalyptus to calm the insomnia of its patients.
And not only in France. In the United States, the Vanderbilt clinic has managed to reduce the stress of its caregivers from 41% to 3% thanks to the use of essential oils in its hallways.

And in Spain, do we use essential oils?

Well, here we have timid attempts to bring the benefits of aromatherapy to the hospital environment. For example, the Sant Jaume de Calella Hospital in Barcelona began using them in 2019 to improve and facilitate deliveries.

Hospitals that use aromatherapy do so not simply to deodorize and aromatize their environments, but because essential oils can tangibly improve the health of their patients.

Researchers at the University of Tottori, in Japan, are probably one of the greatest supporters of this thesis. In fact, they have been testing the effects of essential oils on Alzheimer's disease for years.

In this sense, thanks to a study in 128 patients exposed to two daily diffusions of essential oils, they concluded that these have “ remarkable positive effects ” both on memory and on the quality of sleep and concentration.

The reason is simple: the vapors they emit relax the limbic system, which functions as the “seat” of emotions.

And that is why it is said (and has been proven) that, for example, the smells of freshly cut basil calm the heart, that the exotic aroma of eucalyptus lowers blood pressure and that the spicy essence of lemon opens the respiratory tract.

Nature's antiseptic weapon

Essential oils offer many other important health properties. One of them, its enormous ability to get rid of molds and bacteria, especially staphylococcus.

That is undoubtedly one of the keys that is making essential oils an increasing value in hospitals in more and more countries.

They are excellent natural antiseptics!

There are many studies that have addressed the impact of aromatherapy on bacterial proliferation. Some of the most relevant conclusions point to the fact that in just 30 minutes, essential oils are capable of ridding the air of molds and bacteria. And after 9 hours of diffusion the air would be clean of all types of microbial colonies.

We invite you to discover our home perfumes formulated with pure organic essential oils.

You will be able to breathe pure air almost equivalent to that of the high mountains... after just one day of diffusion at home!
