Ingredients we don't use
The world of home care has often been built on false promises and uncertain chemicals. Chemical compounds have contributed a lot, but natural ones already have all the properties we need and are much more respectful of ecosystems.
AMMONIUM CATIONS
Ammonium compounds are used in fabric softeners to make clothes appear softer. They are known to trigger asthma attacks and are believed to interfere with our reproductive system.
SYNTHETIC DYES
Artificial colors can be found in all kinds of personal care products, soaps, and detergents. They are derived from petroleum and can increase the risk of skin irritation and sensitivity.
PHENOXYETHANOL
It is a synthetic preservative used to prolong the shelf life of cosmetic products. Very toxic in high doses and can cause damage to brain cells and the nervous system.
SYNTHETIC FRAGRANCES
Used in a wide range of products under the name 'fragrance' or 'perfume'. They are petrochemicals and known to cause skin irritation along with serious conditions such as asthma, fertility problems and hormonal interference.
PHTHALATES
It is found in personal care products like nail polishes and shampoos to help the synthetic fragrance last longer. It is a well-known endocrine disruptor, related to obesity, growth defects, fertility problems and asthma.
METHYLISOTHIAZOLINONE
It's a preservative found in supposedly "natural" products like baby wipes, mouthwashes, hand creams, makeup, and cleaning products that can cause minor skin irritations.
PEGS
They are used in personal care products like shampoo, body wash, and soap to make the ingredients gentler on the skin. During their production, the products become contaminated with dioxane, a known human carcinogen.
SILICONES
They are found in personal care products such as lipsticks, hair care, and sunscreens to give a "silky feel." It has been shown to be harmful to the environment, causing skin irritation and dull hair.
SULPHATES DERIVED FROM PETROLEUM
They are very common foaming agents in shampoos, body washes, hand soaps and laundry detergents. They can cause irritation in skin, skin rashes, allergic reactions and hormone disturbance.
TRICLOSAN
It is a well-known environmental toxin used for its antibacterial properties and is often found in antiseptic creams, hand sanitizers, hand soaps, and toothpastes. Linked to skin irritation and interference with hormonal function.
